OUR STORY

The origins of F.I.S.T. LLC

Line 11.png

F.I.S.T. LLC was founded by Schai Schairer, LMSW, and began as a creative poetry internship during her time at Coppin State University. What started as a small class catering to incarcerated women quickly grew, with 11 students turning into 250 people on a waitlist. This experience sparked the creation of a successful nonprofit providing therapeutic services through the arts, where Schai’s leadership garnered numerous awards and recognition. Over time, F.I.S.T. evolved into a consulting agency with a broader focus on marginalized populations, especially incarcerated women and members of the adoption triad, offering trauma-informed coaching, training, and support to empower individuals and organizations.
